The aim of this study is to describe the perception the educational managers of the Instituto Pedagógico de Caracas (IPC) have on the productivity of the academic staff acting in administrative functions. From a methodological perspective this is a field research of a descriptive nature. The sample is made up of twelve (12) department chiefs, twenty one (21) higher education coordinators and seventeen (17) professors who had held those offices in previous periods. The information was gathered by means of a lickert like questionnaire, previously validated by experts, a pilot test and by internal consistency thus guaranting a high reliability. From the opinions given by the professors included in the sample the perception of the educational managers is homogeneous as far as the studied key words to a 5% level. Although the results are inconclusive they show a fairly operative productivity since the objectives and organizational goals are not always met.
