The main point of this work is to analyze the current situation of Hannah Arendts contributions in her classical essay The crisis in education (Arendt 1958/1996) to derive some considerations about the current challenges and conditions of the educational link starting from the methodological strategy: the Discipline of Text Commentary proposed by Márquez. Starting from what Arendt calls the task of thinking, the relation between the authority crisis and the educational crisis is deeply analyzed. Arendt identifi ed three hypotheses that even today give shape to the nucleus of what is considered politically correct in education: (a) the postulation of a world of children (b) the promotion of a free of content pedagogy; and (c) the substitution of doing for learning and of game for work. As a conclusion, it is important to emphasize the validity of Arendts analysis in moments in which education is submitted to pragmatic and utilitarian present pressure, whether in a technocratic or ideological aspect.
