The permanent educational attention to practicing teachers requires establishing methods that facilitate the exchange of knowledge, experiences and strategies to improve their professional skills, based on their needs of the context in which they work. In this sense, the research was to determine the training needs of teachers of the Unidad Educativa Estadal Dr. José Manuel Núñez Ponte, from the San Jose neighborhood (Petare) as the basis of an educational plan for improving quality of life. The study was conducted in two phases; 10 teachers participated. Data collection was obtained through interviews and field notes. The theoretical framework is referred to quality of life, educational principles and values for social harmony. Teachers presented training needs regarding conceptual aspects, procedural and communication techniques. An educational plan was also developed to promote improvements in the quality of life at school and in the neighborhood.
