The aim of this article is to characterize the model of textbook of Natural science of 3rd grade of the subsystem of the Educación Básica Venezolana (Basic Venezuelan Education); which was written by the Peoples Ministry for Education. This subsystem was also integrated and grouped with textbooks from other fields into Colección Bicentenario, which belongs to the Proyecto Libros Escolares para Estudiantes de la República (LEER, school textbook project for the students of the republic.) The base of the characterization of this textbook is the content analysis as technique for the text interpretation- written, recorded, painted, filmed, etc. This analysis was based on reading- words or images- as recording information technique; such method has to be performed following a specific methodology.
