The textbook “Venezuela y su Gente” is analyzed in this study. This book corresponds to Social studies- 6th grade and belongs to Colección Bicentenario. This textbook is writing and distributed, for free, by the People’s Ministry for Education in all Venezuelan public schools that depend on this ministry. This analysis is openly conducted, with the goal recognition of education- by educational authorities and by the president Hugo Chávez Frías himself,- to prove the political based role of education. From the results, there are turns, omissions, and distortions that are seen in the Venezuelan history that goes from 1958 until Chávez’s presidential term.
