Within the UPEL, the Instituto Pedagógico de Caracas (IPC) is a pioneer in environmental education of its graduates, and continues to advance to suit the demands of our time. This paper explores the strengths and weaknesses of the environmental practice of this institution and, from this reality, renovating its curriculum and to strengthen its research units. It was diagnosed the current situation of the environmental dimension from its fundamental functions: teaching, research and extension, as well as the opinion of teachers, administrators and students regarding the environmental practice of the institution. The field research was descriptive, of both, the documents and the opinions of students, teachers and managers. It was concluded that the environmental praxis in the IPC has strengths, weaknesses, consequences and action requirements.
