SANCHEZ CARRENO, José e CALDERA, Yudith. Community planning and participation in the university contex. Investigación y Postgrado [online]. 2013, vol.28, n.2, pp.61-79. ISSN 1316-0087.
In the past few years, community planning and participation have become vital in social-cultural relations and in the processes of renovation. Those changes have helped to bring new ways to evaluate the consolidation of identities, the knowledge on geography, organizations, planning and execution of projects, and key elements that define communities. That is where the importance of the educational role of the universities in the reconstruction of the meaning of community practices has come to play a key role. This essay has the objective to analyze the implications of the principles of planning and participation in the university context. To reach the main objective of the investigation and taking as a starting point a bibliographical review, a reflective and analytical exercise was conducted. The outcome of such exercise was the consolidation of an idea of community- understood as space, sensibility, experience, responsibility, and ethical-political commitment of the actors of the development of social-educational projects; which help on the creation of processes of the community identity.
