In this investigation, the findings from the second stage of the study of the implications that technological functions of the virtual portals (FTPV, in Spanish) have over the academic- administrative management functions at the universities of the state of Lara are reported. Methodologically, this investigation is classified within a quantitative, descriptive, and multi-field paradigm. The study population was responsible for the management of the virtual portals that were being used by 6 universities of the previously mentioned state. A survey of dichotomous questions was used to gathered information among the population. The results of this investigation showed advantages when using FTPV in some processes and services of the academic-administrative management; such as automating and on-line procedures, customer service, document issuing, processes of communication and external information, and the improvement of the visual, imaging, and institutional information.
