The structure of land tenure is an essential component of sustainable development in the sense of equality among generations. Each generation transmits to the following generation tenure with certain characteristics. Tenure should be of such a form that it would favor intergenerational equality. These circumstances lead to formulating several questions, such as, for example: could not one think of tenure where there is no clear definition of property rights or where rights are defined in a very asymmetrical form, would generate future conflicts? On the other hand, generally admitting that small plots are the most efficient is not then, a high concentration an inefficient structure for production, which would limit food security for future generations? This article proposes raising these agrarian questions in Venezuela, with emphasis on long range solution that considers these questions essential for the explanation of the present and future configuration of land tenure in the country.
