HIM DE FREITEZ, Yijan e PAEZ DE CASARES, Josefina. Compared foliar anatomy of ginger plants (Zingiber officinale Roscoe) under three growing conditions. Bioagro [online]. 2004, vol.16, n.1, pp.27-30. ISSN 1316-3361.
To describe the foliar anatomy of ginger plants that may influence their later establishment, a study was conducted during three growing phases: in vitro, acclimatization, and field. Samples were prepared from transversal sections of foliar lamina. The results showed anatomical differences in estomata location, cuticle thickness, and vascular sheath location and shape. Vascular bundles were close collateral type in the three growing phases. It was proved that plants undergo important anatomical changes during acclimatization that may allow an effective ulterior field establishment.
