CASTILLO, Maicol; DE FREITEZ, Yiján Him e HERNANDEZ DE BERNAL, Noris. Effect o AIB on rooting of azahar of India (Murraya paniculata (L. Jack) when propagated by air layering . Bioagro [online]. 2005, vol.17, n.2, pp.123-126. ISSN 1316-3361.
Azahar of India (Murraya paniculata) is widely cultivated as ornamental plant. Its propagation at commercial level has been done by seeds, but the plants show very slow growth, taking a long time for transplanting; the asexual propagation has been difficult. The present study was conducted in order to evaluate the effect of four concentrations of AIB (0, 3000, 4000 and 5000 m g·g-1) on rooting when using air layering propagation. After 60 days 100% of rooting was obtained in all treatments, but the concentration of 4000 m g·g-1 produced the highest fresh and dry mass, number and total length of roots.
