PEREZ, Maiby. Rendimiento de un tractor agrícola en función del sistema de labranza y la carga. I. Características de la tracción. Bioagro [online]. 2006, vol.18, n.1, pp.049-056. ISSN 1316-3361.
The traction efficiency on the drawbar of agricultural tractors may vary as a function of the soil tillage conditions, particularly when conservationist tillage methods are used. In this trial, the tractor performance to traction under different tillage conditions (eight levels) and drawbar load (three levels) was evaluated in a strip-plot design. The load levels at drawbar of the test tractor were applied by a braking tractor at several gears combinations. The tillage conditions went from low-tillage to moderate and intensive conventional soil preparation. The highest drawbar pull (Q) and slip(δ) and the lowest traction efficiency (TE) were found under the intensive tillage conditions (with four or five hallow passes at the beginning of the rainy season plus hallow when fallow), which in turn had the lowest soil moisture, cone index, surface residue cover, organic matter content, and bulk density. The highest traction coefficients (m Q) were also found under intensive tillage conditions which were attributed to an important loss of the tractor dynamic weight in the rear axel observed at these conditions.
