Resumen
MADUENO-MOLINA, Alberto et al. Seed germination of wild Bean, Rhynchosia minima (L.) DC., under different seed treatments. Bioagro [online]. 2006, vol.18, n.2, pp.101-105. ISSN 1316-3361.
This study was carried out to evaluate the process of germination of frijolillo, Rhynchosia minima (L.) DC., through the use of seed scarification and heat exposure. Three experiments were performed and the following seed treatments evaluated: scarification with concentrated sulfuric acid, with soaking time of 0, 15, 30, 45, or 60 minutes; heat exposure at 60, 70, 80, 90 or 100 ºC for 5 or 10 minutes; and heat exposure at 70 or 80 ºC for 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, or 30 minutes. A control with no heating was included. Additionally, the seeds were exposed to a fixed temperature at 70 ºC for 5 hours. It was found that the use of concentrated sulfuric acid for 30 minutes, and the heat treatment at 70 ºC for 5 hours promoted the highest germination percentage.
