This paper is focused on the analysis of Mercedes Franco’s first novel, one of the finalists in the “Miguel Otero Silva” Novel Prize in 1992, which is viewed as a historic novel telling with resources taken from the Spanish theatre of Golden Century and full of erotic contents. Herein there is the singularity of depicting the Spanish view of conquerors, masculine view no usually expressed in the historic novels written by women in Venezuela.
