This paper is a part of a research focused on the most read child stories by teachers and glanced through by children in Preprimary schools of Mérida city. The theme is handled in three parts. Firstly: Some ideas about child literature; secondly: methodology, organisation of field work and a look at Preprimary schools visited, and thirdly: analysis on child stories from the gender perspective, some conclusions and recommendations
