Resumen
MEDINA, Venus. El empoderamiento de la mujer y la acción colectiva. Revista Venezolana de Estudios de la Mujer [online]. 2007, vol.12, n.29, pp.49-62. ISSN 1316-3701.
The aim of this study is to understand how a group of women feels in relation to empowering and the influence on collective action. It is a field research grounded on Spiegelbergs phenomenological method; for so doing we made a selection of four subjects living at Popular Urbanization of Trapichito, municipality of Valencia, Carabobo state. The data were gathered through semi structured interviews and observations. Thus, the experience lived by these women in relation to community empowering was grasped, as well as the roles they adopt to face the necessities felt by the population along with its motivation to make community work. To systematize the information we used the computational programme Atlas Ti, version 5.2, designed for qualitative analysis of data; with this software we ordered the data, allowing further to categorize and put together such information. The results show that in the women chosen there are traits of empowering at the level of community because when we analyse the answers appears the emphasis on participation of community members, ability to produce changes and articulation with rendering services-institutions in order to get resources, and likewise will provide satisfaction to collective needs.
