EL ACHKAR, Soraya. Leer-escribir el mundo: Una experiencia educativa para el ejercicio del poder. Revista Venezolana de Estudios de la Mujer [online]. 2008, vol.13, n.31, pp.99-125. ISSN 1316-3701.

The Support Net brought about an educational experience for the parents of police abuses victims, in order they made the reading and writing about their daily world, with the purpose they were able to decode the objective conditions leaving them to become a victim, as well as the power structures favoured by the oppression logics involved and the resignation-creating cultural codes which usually paralyse the people. The reading-writing experience is grounded on Paulo Freire notions, and is based on the idea that of the authentic reading-writing act means a political-dialectic process resuming the relation between knowledge and transformation of ourselves. This educational experience allowed many women assume an engagement attitude before violation of human rights.
