This text presents a preview of an ongoing investigation, on the texts of newspapers, which refer to violence in couple relationships in two regional newspapers published in the Colombian city of Medellin, El Colombiano and La Chiva. These two newspapers were chosen because of its wide circulation and recognition by the public opinion of this city. The intention of the analysis of articles is to understand how the media influence the construction of social representations of such violence. Similarly, in the articles studied it was observed specific cultural constructions about love, couple relationships and violence that guide social behavior of social subjects.
