The aim of this study is to identify the differences in team effectiveness and in leadership styles between intermediate male and female managers. To this effect, the study considers a sample of 55 intermediate managers, with a 40% of female participation in a big organization with public patrimony. The results show that there is no difference in team effectiveness considering the gender, because if the team is directed by men or women, the differences in the effectiveness are not statistically significant. Finally, it is discovered that the transactional and transformational leadership styles are significant to explain the effectiveness of the working group in the case of the female managers, but in the case of men only the transformational leadership is relevant, since the transactional leadership is statistically no significant
