The aim of the present study was to describe the phenomenon of dependence in older adults in the context of aging which is expected in the population worldwide, with special attention to the role played by women who have been historically recognized the nature family caregiver. In particular, it raises the risks facing by women today face the multiple roles that they bear on the physical, individual and social, psychological and economic-working plane to create a space for discussion and allowing sincerely reconcile traditional and present roles, equal opportunity compared to other social groups and family members
