The present article gives a general framework of analysis on the education in Chile from a gender perspective. It shows the different aspects of the Educational System through which the sexism ideology of our society is transmitted. The paper is about the prejudices and stereotypes in the social construction that is made based on the biological differentiation, which results in inequalities between men and women. The text reviews the Coeducation concept. A redefinition of the concept of coeducation considers the different theoretical and empirical antecedents that have stated the elements which help the perpetuation of the inequalities between men and women
