Abstract
D'ARMAS, Mayra. State of the art of scheduling with setup times: Subject for future researches (part I). uct [online]. 2005, vol.9, n.33, pp.42-48. ISSN 1316-4821.
The scheduling problem has been studied during lasts forty years; nevertheless many of scheduling research not consider the impact of setup times and assume setup as negligible or part of the processing time. This article provides the current research in the operations scheduling field with setup times, synthesizing and organizing knowledge and offering suggestions for future researches. The researches were grouped in four main productive environments: single machine, flow shop, job shop and parallel machines; and they were classified in problems with and without product families, with sequence-dependent and sequence-independent setup times. Of the application cases showed is deduced the practice importance to separate the setup times of the processing times, and to consider its dependency of the sequence. Of the analysis of the state-of-the-art of the operations scheduling with setup times is evidenced that is a field opened for future research in the production systems of the real world.
