Abstract

CUSTODIO, Ángel. New method for connecting generating sensors to microcontrollers without using analogical to digital converters. uct [online]. 2006, vol.10, n.37, pp.13-17. ISSN 1316-4821.

The development of an electronic interface for the direct connection of a voltagegenerating sensor to a microcontroller without using an analogical to digital converter is presented in this work. An analysis of old and modern instrumentation systems is carried out; the development of a compact interface in hardware with software carried out under the microcontroller 12C671, is implemented; the operation of the interface is explained, and the results are showed, for the comparison and analysis of errors. The design proposed and implemented reduces errors significantly and offers advantages of economic nature and in the development time. Modern instrumentation proposes the implementation of instruments that can automatically handle procedures of linealization, self-scale, compensation of errors and variation of resolutions. The design proposed achieves these objectives. The results that were obtained in the test of this device show that errors made are of a maximum 0.03%, for normal operating conditions, and offers compensations against the variations in the passive elements of the circuit up to a maximum 30%, and on this basis offers great advantages in its utilization and possible commercialization.
