The terrestrial digital broadcasting of television signals continues to develop. One of the last systems of this type, Digital Video Broadcasting-Terrestrial (DVB T), is already operational in many countries around the world. The paper analyzes the features of this technology. It includes the terrestrial digital television development, television signal processing for digital broadcasting, codification methods of these signals, as well as multiplexing and modulation techniques. The result of this theoretical investigation -based on the rigorous, systematic, and exhaustive research of different sources related to this topic- offers a description of system capabilities, showing it as a flexible and robust alternative for television operators, who will be able to match, and even improve on, the area coverage of the typical analog system using only a fraction of the current power consumption..
