REMOTE DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM FOR POWER TRANSFORMERS   Abstracts: A modern Remote Diagnostic System for Power Transformers has been developed by Venezuelan and Cuban specialists in the Barquisimeto Substation of ENELBAR in Venezuela. Its main characteristic is not only being able to diagnose the condition of the transformer but also to analyze its dynamic load. The methodology used was to design, develop and install a data acquisition system that will allow to monitor the electrical variables, temperature and gases of the transformer. Then the remaining components of the system were implemented, among which is the dynamic data base, the expert system for the analysis of dissolved gases, the thermal model that sends the data to UNEXPO, Venezuela and is then re sent to CIPEL - CUJAE, Cuba, via Internet. A partial result is a system able to diagnose incipient failures in a large transformer and also allows to analyze its dynamic load starting from the inclusion of the calculus method of the two thermal models. This feature places it within the most modern present systems since it may determine, in a dynamic way, the load that the transformer can safely support.
