PACHECO, Delbi; LEON, Oivdio; LISCANO, Sugehis  y  GIL, Linda. INFLUENCE OF THE HEAT TREATMENT TEMPERATURE ON THE CORROSION RATE AUTOCATALYTIC COATINGS. uct [online]. 2008, vol.12, n.47, pp.65-72. ISSN 1316-4821.

One of the techniques of protection that provide to carbon steels a good resistance to the corrosion is the application of Ni-P autocatalytic coatings These coatings are characterized for its high resistance to the corrosion and by the combination of other properties like wear, high hardness, and uniformity of the coating which makes it perfect for complex geometries. This type of coatings is obtained for chemical reduction of ions of nickel mean the action of an agent reducer. In this work the autocatalytic coating is deposited on a steel AISI 1045, to temperature of 60 ºC and pH 8 and submitted to NaCl's corrosive assault to 3.5 % in air. The thermal effects of the temperature of treatment to 200, 300 and 400 ºC for 1 hour on the crystalline structure and mechanisms of corrosion, are evaluated using technologies of diffraction of X-rays and Scanning Electronic Microscopy (SEM) with Microanalysis for EDX. Was found that when increased the temperature of thermal treatment more strong is the corrosive assaulty, favoring the detachment of the coating. The mechanism of corrosion observed consists on the formation of microgalvanic cells due to the rainfall of the Ni3P, there being generated located corrosion, promoting the cracking and as consequence the detachment of the coating.
