Voice prompts are a common feature in modern electronics since audio record & playback solidstate devices appear on the market. Defibrillators established a turning point in the use of voice prompts making this feature indispensable at present in both semi-automatic and automatic models. This paper propose a Voice - Message Emitting Module to be added to the defibrillator products of the Central Institute for Digital Research, taking into account what other important manufacturers of this branch of medical devices have done. The block diagram representing the electrical design, as well as the algorithm to control message playing from an external microcontroller, are presented. According to its intelligibility and sound intensity, tests performed on prototyping hardware show an audio program quality suitable for the related application. The group of voice messages for testing purposes totalizes fifteen and requires up to 23 % of memory capacity. Hints for multi - language support and for volume control are also included.
