Abstract
CACHUTT, Crisdalith; ILLADA, Ruth; BARRETO, Joaquín and PINTO, Francys. PRODUCTION PROCESS ANALYSIS OF A MANUFACTURING INDUSTRY BY AN INTEGRATED CONTROL GRAPH. uct [online]. 2008, vol.12, n.49, pp.227-234. ISSN 1316-4821.
This paper analyses the manufacturing process of an industry by a new tool called Integrated Control Graph, specifically designed for such a purpose. This Graph results from the fusion of two Industrial Engineering tools: Graphs of individual readings (characteristic of Statistical Process Control) and Standard Time (ST) of Methods Engineering. The methodology was divided into three stages: First, everything that does not add value was diminished by the Systematic Waste Elimination (SWE) tool. Second, STs were determined based on the different product classes or families. Finally, real times were registered and represented in a graph of individual readings, with the corresponding ST; thus, measuring the quality of the process and creating a useful tool for continuous improvement since it quickly detects assignable causes of variation (tool wear, raw material quality, unplanned stops, storage tank contamination) which can be translated into fast corrective measures that generate an increase in the system productivity.
