Resumen

LUGO, Edgar; VILLEGAS, Hyxia; VILLEGAS, Ángel  y  PACHECO, José. READER OF ELECTRONIC HEALTH RECORDS CODIFIED IN STANDARD HEALTH LEVEN 7 / CLINICAL DOCUMENT ARCHITECTURE FOR ITS APPLICATION IN TELEMEDICINE SERVICES. uct [online]. 2009, vol.13, n.51, pp.143-152. ISSN 1316-4821.

The primary target of this work is to develop free software that allows reading clinical health records in the Health Level 7/Clinical Document Architecture (HL7/CDA) standard. Software receives a file XML codified in HL7/CDA and organizes its information in a data structure stored in the memory of the computer, thus avoiding unnecessary readings of document HL7/CDA. The interchange of data between the Web browser and the Web server is made using Asynchronous Javascript and XML (AJAX). The development of software was made following eXtreme Programming (XP) methodology and Object Oriented Programming in language PHP, using the multipurpose editor Eclipse. The tests of the reader were made in Linux Ubuntu and Windows XP, having used Apache 2 and PHP 5. The obtained results show that software works correctly in both used operating systems in this study. Developed software facilitates the management of the information of electronic health records codified in HL7/CDA after its reception and allows maintaining the integrity of the clinical information thanks to its interchange; by such reason this tool represents a contribution the clinical exchange of information to be used in services of telemedicine.

Palabras clave : Telemedicine; Health Records; HL7; Clinical Document Architecture.
