Abstract
RODRIGUEZ, Eliana del Valle; VARGAS, Eduardo E; ARAVENA, Emilio and CACHUTT, Crisdalith. Biomechanical demand on compact vehicle assembly. uct [online]. 2009, vol.13, n.52, pp.223-230. ISSN 1316-4821.
To assess the biomechanical demand on compact vehicle assemblies, a transversal study was carried out using Suzanne Rodgers and REBA methodologies to identify critical situations while establishing which of these tools is more appropriate for the companys needs. Multibody assessment of physical load is employed for estimating weighed risk levels on the set of tasks performed by workers. Results show that most tasks pose moderate risk levels in causing lesions on the osteomuscular system. Statistically significant existing evidence of 1% confirms there is a significantly difference between Rodgers and REBA, and thus it can be concluded that the latter should be implemented for assessing biomechanics since it is sensitive to risk factors in task execution. Finally, technical and administrative recommendations are proposed for the detected disagreements.
