Abstract

This work examines the morphology and dynamics of the business fabric of Guayana City through the revision of the formation of local productive system for the purpose of explaining its configuration and level of activity. This study has demanded the use of a descriptive transeccional non-experimental research methodology. It led qualitative; information as well as the quantitative (directory of establishments in 2002 and 2005 Guayana City database) management. It should be noted the review databases consulted allowed to detect that 77% of surveyed establishments are micro-enterprises, 22% small and medium enterprises, and 1% sized enterprise. Regarding employment in the period 2002-2005, there is a shy process of creation of new jobs only 4.7%. By the year 2005 are small and medium-sized enterprises that more employment generated (41.5%), followed by large enterprise and small business. Also, it reveals the prevalence of tertiary sector and categories tab integrated both companies and jobs generated.
