This paper presents the modeling and simulation of the respiratory response of a system. The mathematical model of the biomedical breathing during ventilation through the exchange of gases presented makes it possible to simulate the volume-controlled ventilation, allowing the determination of the parameters concerning the system, obtaining the values for volume and gas exchange response of this model showed the capacity to modify and reproduce the response to changes in inspired volume and respiratory rate with small changes in the flow of incoming air. The simulations allow us to know more accurately the physiological changes and their impact when some parameters are changed The overall result suggests that this model can be used to improve the design of control system of a given ventilation gas exchanger.
