In the distance learning model for engineering students , it is important intersperse lectures with practical activities . In this project, a platform for the implementation of practical laboratory of Industrial Instrumentation course specifically for the practice of pneumatic circuits was developed. The platform enables the implementation of practices remotely in order to provide support for this model of distance education. This platform is supported on a simulator , which has two main parts: a software developed in Linux platform development tool PRAWNS 2.5 graphical interface , and hardware compatible with PIC 18F4550 microcontroller . The software developed by a man-machine interface for the local implementation of simulator practice, and also run remotely via the Internet, the control of the hardware for the development of practice in real mode is structured . The manager is built Hardware simulate the movement of a piston , as well as racing purposes and the direction in which it moves . For interaction Software / Hardware USB protocol connection is configured using free software and it was functional under Linux. Therefore, the product obtained consists of a pneumatic model for the implementation of the practice, the communication interface with a computer under Linux , a software that remotely controls the model for remote laboratory and process simulator . This system has the characteristics of being operated remotely via the Internet , as a Web page that enables access by network simulator developed was created.
