This research had the purpose to establish proposals to reduce risks in the positions executing of the archiving activity of the documents related research projects. This study was realized in an academic unit of the University of Táchira, Venezuela, in the workplace of an Assistant Engineer in the Program of Training and Human Resource Development. The methodology was based on the OWAS method, with the final purpose to determine the risks involved in the taken positions; for that, was observed and filmed for a week the work and subsequent analysis. With this study were identified five main actions in the proceedings and 19 different positions that could be repeated or not throughout the process, so a total of 44 movements made were quantified. Likewise, it was determined that the position "returns to the desktop without charge" is one of the most performed a total of four times, while according to the frequency of movements, the body parts that have a considerable level of risk they are the back and legs. Finally, proposals for the short, medium and long term are made to reduce the risks identified in the positions of the activity studied.
