In order to develop an application in MATLAB to help the producer in the selection of dairy goats, two data processing techniques were used; mathematical profiling and digital image processing, 10 lactating goats were sampled, data was collected for 60 days, divided into three periods: initial, middle and final lactation. Photographs were captured directly from the udder at a distance of 50 cm horizontally and a height of 60 cm and the main measurements of the udder were taken. A database with photographic information was created and processed in GeoGebra and MATLAB software to estimate udder volumes. The results showed that there is no statistical significance between the methods used to calculate udder size (P>0.05), and the best mathematical model that related the variables studied was the grade 6 polynomial model (R2=0.881).
