The research aims to propose a model of academic management of professional training to effectively promote entrepreneurship and the development of innovation. A quantitative approach with a descriptive and correlational non-experimental design is used. The sample consisted of 279 students, who were administered a 50-question survey. The results show that professional training was in a regular range, with corresponding percentages in high and low ranges. This indicates that academic management fails to achieve the intended goal regarding entrepreneurial and innovation competencies. These findings reveal the need to create an academic management model that favors entrepreneurship competencies necessary for professional development.
