This research studied how the family environment contributes to the academic performance of adolescents. A quantitative approach and a non-experimental cross-sectional design were used. The study sample included 115 adolescents of both sexes, aged between 14 and 19 years with their fathers or mothers. The sample size was calculated probabilistically by simple random sampling using the Microsoft Excel program. The results were collected by applying a survey that was analyzed using the SPSS edition 27 statistical program. As a result, it was found that the vast majority of the families live in severely dysfunctional conditions. It was concluded that there is a significant relationship between the family environment and the academic performance of the adolescents analyzed.
