REYES PIHUAVE, Genny Maritza et al. Active learning strategies and their impact on reading comprehension. uct [online]. 2025, vol.29, n.especial, pp.211-219.  Epub 19-Mayo-2025. ISSN 1316-4821.  https://doi.org/10.47460/uct.v29ispecial.903.

This study evaluated the effectiveness of active learning strategies in improving reading comprehension among basic education students, using a quasi-experimental design with experimental and control groups. The research falls within the applied category, with a practical scope aimed at addressing social needs, demonstrating that these strategies are effective and relevant for fostering key skills in quality education. Employing a quantitative approach, variables were measured through pretests and posttests, highlighting the positive impact of active strategies on students' cognitive development. The results showed that the educational intervention significantly strengthened literal and deep comprehension in the experimental group, eliminating previously low-performance levels.
