The research analyzes local economic development strategies from sustainability and community participation perspectives through a theoretical review of articles indexed in Scopus, Web of Science, and SciELO, published between 2020 and 2025. A total of 84 articles were studied through bibliometric analysis and thematic review. The results show an increase in research aimed at integrating sustainability, governance, and social participation into territorial economic strategies. It is concluded that the articulation among local actors and the sustainable management of resources strengthen economic resilience and constitute key foundations for sustainable territorial development.
