Resumen
URRIBARRI, Raisa. Teacher training and ICT: inventing or erring. La Revista Venezolana de Educación (Educere) [online]. 2005, vol.9, n.28, pp.77-82. ISSN 1316-4910.
In the context of an increasingly media oriented society, training teachers to use Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) sensibly and with appropriation is an urgent task. Nonetheless, and regardless of the efforts made from different areas, it is not easy. At least not in our Latin American and Caribbean societies, where there are serious difficulties of diverse nature, among which limited access to the Internet is one of these difficulties. However, the search for alternatives- try out proposals- is not impossible. This paper presents and contextualizes our experience in the Education School of the University of Los Andes (Trujillo, Venezuela), where, beyond an instrumental training for resource use, we aim to promote thought on the place and role that ITC has in our social and cultural reality, within a transforming and dialoguing education model.
