Resumen

GUERRA GONZALEZ, María del R.. Relationship between knowledge, education and ethics: A philosophical reflection. La Revista Venezolana de Educación (Educere) [online]. 2005, vol.9, n.31, pp.579-588. ISSN 1316-4910.

This paper is a philosophical reflection on the ethical implications of the way education is usually passed on. It is conceived from philosophy’s point o view; therefore, it is a documentary research. An intermediate position is reached between idealism and realism tainted with a great deal of subjectivism. A type of education that does not lead to a scientific dogmatism is called out for, and that instead, show in what range employed knowledge is valid. Educating with this attitude may lead to the no transformation of knowledge into absolutes and it may allow acknowledging that there are other points of view, even inside the science. Intellectually, remembering that other postures exist, teaches how to live with that which is different, even cognitively, this leads to an everyday-life applicable ethical situation: to respect individual differences, source of wealth and conflicts.

Palabras clave : knowledge; education; ethics.
