Professional practices in studying syllabuses at university level constitute an important referent for education, however displaced from theoretical debate. This essay presents some ideas to reproduce a new route diary about different practices that establish interdependence mechanisms between applying and producing knowledge, all this, with the intention of initiating the reflection in the pedagogic and curricular area. From this premise and taking into account the practices of the major in Integral Elementary Education, the current conceptual map of ambiguity, the marginal place it occupies in curricular discussions, the lack of valuing ascribed to it by the education major, and the theoretical and practical balance of vertical and horizontal interrelation with other curriculum components are herein described. Two routes are visualized to create an outlet: 1. Professional practices approaches and 2. A group of ideas that stress the definition and operation of these practices as an edification axis. Finally, keeping in mind hermeneutical-reflective approaches setout, structuring Professional Practice Axis is suggested; since it supposes its construction as a study object and intervention field in the complex situation of schooling culture.
