Contemporaneity has imposed new challenges for the teacher. Some of them cannot be compared in the history of civilization. Promoting an education that warns about how essential establishing strategies accorded to the challenges of new times is, sets out for the teacher the need of questioning the way it conceives its current function from an ethical point of view. The inevitable situation of having to adapt ourselves, modifying our vision of reality and rescuing “traditional” ways of relating to the students in the teaching-learning process, is the critical approach of this paper.
