PASEK DE PINTO, Eva. Reflections on teaching: a practice filled with underlying interests. Educere [online]. 2006, vol.10, n.32, pp.107-114. ISSN 1316-4910.
Along with the Venezuelan educational reform, a critic teacher is needed to educate critic students. Reason why this study intends to reveal the cognitive interests underlay in teaching practices from the critical theory perspective. In order to achieve this goal, the interests guiding pedagogic practice from Habermas’ perspective were analyzed, establishing a correspondence relationship with its elements. Different types of experiences were defined according to their technical, practical, emancipatory interests defining each one. The study’s contribution is to offer the reader the characteristics of an interest-oriented pedagogic practice that allow the teachers to reflect on their actions, acknowledge them and perform the necessary changes. To conclude, reflections on the necessity of change and its possibilities are offered.
Palabras clave : pedagogic practice; teaching; cognitive interests.
