BUSTAMANTE NEWBALL, Jenny. Challenges for television journalism university education. Educere [online]. 2006, vol.10, n.32, pp.115-120. ISSN 1316-4910.

On this article, the author reflects on communication professionals’ university education who will work as journalists on television networks in Latin America. Starting with information and communication technology consequences in television network models and the transition these models have raised today. Analyzing the relationship between these technologies and the television journalism practice, confirms education traditional grounds’ validity. It concludes that when facing a communicational model that tends to disdain civic needs and technologies that strengthen the formal value of content and limit in the immediate future the access of the majority part of Latin America to a single television model, those teaching traditional aspects are turned into challenges.
