Our purpose is to understand the relationship between youth and university education in the modern and post-modern context. So we start from the premise that there is an increasing division between expectations of youth and ideals brandished by university education. To untangle that premise, we begin by identifying the traits of modernity and post modernity, so then to make an approuch on what youth are with reflexions about on the scholarization of university education. We come to a series of conclusions, we highlight the characteristic ambiguity, both of modernity and post modernity, as it is reflected on the position of youth toward university education.
