One of the challenges of teachers in contemporary times lies in assuming the cultural happening of its environment and the idea of identity as “universal phenomena. ” The possibility of perceiving nationalism removed from this premise would be contradiction in terms. Regardless of the value that “autochthonous ” cultural manifestations pretend to claim, these cannot be separated from the history of “universal” cultural manifestations. Handling this vision adequately is one of the challenges of teachers in current times. With regards to the above, there are some points that deserve thought and consideration.
