QUINTERO, Roy. Games and math in teaching: the 21 card trick through permutations. Educere [online]. 2006, vol.10, n.34, pp.427-434. ISSN 1316-4910.

In this article we present a mathematical study of the classic and well-known card name “21-card trick. ” Using the basic theory of permutations, we explain why the trick is infallible and works on its own. At the same time, we state, within the field of math teaching, the object and scope of this work, taking into account some opinions from the famous Spanish mathematician Miguel de Guzmán (1936-2004).

Palavras-chave : Permutations; recreational math; games; math teaching; technological tools (Mathematica®).
