The interest in studying all that is relevant to cognitive processes while learning, lead to research on the participation of teachers in the V Virtual Forum with Certification by the Education and Sports Ministry (MED, Spanish acronym) “Pedagogical use of technological resources: chat, forum and electronic mail. ” The forum was designed on an open source platform and organized by groups. Group 2, encouraged by the researcher, was made up of 15 teachers who were given an access code. Studying this case leads to reporting three events: (a) the characteristics of the group; (b) the constructions that resulted from the explicit, implicit and independent interactions; (c) participation in the dimensions: participation, social, interactive, cognitive and metacognitive. It was found that: (a) 86.66% of the group participated; (b) there was a slow response to using the technological resources: 54.17% used the forum environment, 20.83% used the chat room and 12. 5% used electronic mail; (c) regarding participation: 42.86% was individualized; the interactions were: 38.46% participative, 48.1 5% social, 14.81 % interactive, 22.22% cognitive and 14.81 % metacognitive. There are suggestions for future educational virtual forums.
