Modern society has intervened in the environment from a hostile domination to exploitation comparable to parasitism. Now, education has a huge task ahead, because this is not about educating for the future, but about saving the planet. This research took place with students from the School of Education from the Faculty of Humanities and Education, University of Los Andes, Mérida, Venezuela. The work objectives were: a) know the education student ’s attitudes about Environmental Education; b) research on the methodology to develop this attitude; and, c) highlight the knowledge fields associated with Environmental Education. The methodology used was exploratory and the 39-student sample was observed during semester B-2004. The results show that: the green perception of the environment is upheld; Sociology and Ecology are the fields associated with Environmental Education; the best teaching strategies are those that allow direct experiences; and, there is a great interest in bringing the environmental approach to the curriculum, among others.
